Founded in the early 1970s by Tom Hayson OAM and his son Ian, the Group’s early work helped define the direction of modern Australian property development and urban renewal.

From Australia’s first super high-rise residential tower to the revitalisation of Sydney’s Pyrmont and Darling Harbour precincts, Hayson has consistently been part of shaping how Australians live, work and connect with their cities. Over the decades, the Group has delivered more than one million square metres of residential, retail and commercial projects, built on disciplined planning and long-term perspective.

The early years saw the assembly and delivery of high-rise residential sites along Sydney’s North Shore corridor — establishing Artarmon as one of the city’s first multi-unit residential precincts. Hayson also played a pioneering role in adaptive reuse, transforming disused warehouses into residential and commercial strata properties, and introducing the loft-apartment concept to the Australian market.
